How do I import my messages into SermonBase?
A: The answer to this depends on what format you have your messages in. For most people this will mean that their messages are Word (.doc) files. SermonBase does not directly import Word files, but you can import the names of your files. To get the most benefit from this, it is helpful to have your messages grouped into message sets, or series. Then when you choose the import option, select the option for .doc files. Give the series a name, and fill in the rest of the descriptor boxes, and select the folder containing your set of messages. (If your messages are in chronological order, you can also choose the ‘AutoDate’ feature; otherwise, keep it turned off.) When you choose import, all of the names of the files will be imported into SermonBase (but not the contents of those .doc files). This will give you a list inside of SermonBase for your messages. To access the actual files, you have a couple of options. Using the “FileFolder” option (found under the “Goals” tab in “Messages), you can locate the file. Then when you click on the image file of your message, your word processor will start it up for you. The second option you have is to simply cut-and-paste your message from your word processor and drop it into the “content” box under the Message tab. |
